These are some of my thoughts for a couple paintings I’m doing for a book I am illustrating for my niece. The story is Custard the Dragon and the Wicked Knight so I’ve been focusing on how the dragon should look. The first two sketches are from when I first started the project. My niece is my model for Belinda.
This is just a random sketch I was doing the other day. I started out drawing piano keys and then I somehow decided to put someone climbing them like in rock climbing. The words came last. Hope they make you feel good.
I wanted to do something for Yin Yang Yoga and Wellness, where I work as a massage therapist. I’ve done a couple projects for them but this was focused on yoga. The woman in child’s pose is the first painting that I did. It is based on a picture of the owner of the yoga studio. After I did it she asked me to make cards so I made a couple more paintings so that I’d have a set. All the images are on sale at etsy now and possibly on amazon though I haven’t checked there. And of course Yin Yang sells them too.
Recently I’ve been lucky enough to work with some private schools including my alma mater, Sandy Spring Friends School. I just did a couple of paintings for them. I’m hoping to capture the spirit of the school or at least the sense that I got of it while I was there. Below are the paintings.
